	Under the Roofs of Paris - Criterion Collection Buy new: $26.99 / Used from: $12.99 Clair showing the world how to use sound. And charming too.
	All Quiet on the Western Front (Universal Cinema Classics) Buy new: $11.49 / Used from: $6.46 It's all that you heard it should be. The first American classic of the sound era.
	The Blue Angel Buy new: $31.49 / Used from: $14.95 The pathos is a little thick, but the carnality of Dietrich becomes legend.
	Murnau, Borzage and Fox Box Set Buy new: $182.49 / Used from: $129.99 CITY GIRL is a simpler version of "Sunrise," but it's a thrilling piece of moviemaking with a big city cafeteria full of life and a rural landscape full of characters who cut right to the bone.
	Animal Crackers [Groucho Marx and Harpo Marx] A touch stagey, but few acts are funnier than the Marx Brothers. "We took some pictures of the native girls, but they weren't developed. But we're going back again in a couple of weeks!"
	Howard Hughes' Hell's Angels Buy new: $12.49 / Used from: $5.95 The dialogue scenes are borderline unbearable (although Jean Harlow injects a welcome sexiness), but the dogfight scenes - which make up most of the movie - are unparalleled and demonstrate the effectiveness of such things before CGI made everything look fake.
	Luis Bunuel's L'Age d'Or Buy new: $22.49 / Used from: $11.59 Surreal, to be sure, and it means to offend. A success on both counts.
	The Big Trail (Two-Disc Special Edition) Buy new: $17.99 / Used from: $7.99 A very early attempt at wide-screen, outdoor shooting and big scope with sound. Not always successful and a bit corny, but it can carry you in its sweep.
	Earth Buy used from: $44.09 The story is disjointed and it can bore you in places, but it's got that Soviet editing, a rural glow and a truly shocking moment on a night path.
