My Favorite LucasArts Adventure Games (In Order)
By an Amazon.com customer
Grim FandangoGrim Fandango
Buy new: $81.22 / Used from: $38.95
A masterpiece in adventure gaming. This one got everything right, from the immersive storyline, to the puzzles, and the music is feature film worthy
Maniac Mansion: Day of the TentacleManiac Mansion: Day of the Tentacle
Buy new: $177.99 / Used from: $27.95
Another stunning achievement in story telling. Takes place in the past, present, and future to make for a very interactive game. The characters are very memorable and the situations are hilarious.
Monkey Island 2: LeChuck's RevengeMonkey Island 2: LeChuck's Revenge
Buy used from: $72.99
Part of the longest running series of games by LucasArts, the second Monkey Island is my favorite. The islands, the characters, the puzzles. This one had everything that made the first one so great and more.
The DigThe Dig
Buy used from: $1.94
The most serious adventure game by LucasArts, this one took me a while to complete, but I was completely taken in by the atmosphere it set up. Originally a story by Steven Spielburg.
The Curse of Monkey IslandThe Curse of Monkey Island
Buy new: $86.22 / Used from: $29.00
The third in the series, this one has the best graphics and is the first "talkie" of the Monkey Islands. Great islands in this one and great voice acting.
Full ThrottleFull Throttle
Buy new: $70.92 / Used from: $9.99
A little short, but still a great ride from start to finish. Interesting plot, great voice acting (including Mark Hamil), and possibly the coolest main character out of all of these games.
Sam & Max Hit the RoadSam & Max Hit the Road
Buy new: $17.47 / Used from: $9.39
Another hilarious title where you play as Sam and his rabbity sidekick Max, who makes regular appearances in nearly all of these games listed. Some of the funniest dialogue I've come across in a game like this.
The Secret of Monkey IslandThe Secret of Monkey Island
Buy used from: $45.00
The one that started it all. This game should be higher up the list, considering it's the game that got me into LucasArts, but the truth is most of the previous games are better in scope. I will say it's probably one of the most original adventure games ever made and deserves respect.
Escape from Monkey IslandEscape from Monkey Island
Buy new: $74.46 / Used from: $8.92
The 4th in the Monkey Island series and my least favorite. It tries too hard to live up to the originals but just doesn't quite get there.
LoomLoom
Buy used from: $29.98
An interesting game with a fairly interesting main character. I would recommend everything listed prior to this game before I'd play this, but it's still not bad overall.
Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade (PC)Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade (PC)
Buy used from: $11.99
I actually never beat this. If they were to release it on CD I would attempt it again. However Fate of Atlantis is the superior Indy game.
Maniac MansionManiac Mansion
Buy used from: $48.44
I must admit, another game I've tried and couldn't finish. I don't know why, I just couldn't get into it. But its sequel, Day of the Tentacle, features this game as a hidden feature, so if you own that, you own this. Also the game that introduced the SCUMM engine, which the majority of these games run on.
Zak McKracken and the Alien MindbendersZak McKracken and the Alien Mindbenders by Lucasfilm Games
If I could find a copy of this I'd play it. You'd be lucky to come across one.
