Lunatic HarnessLunatic Harness by u-ziq
Buy used from: $2.20
Probably my favorite artist, features warm melodies and songwriting along with aggressive drum sampling, his other cds feature similiar qualities but overall the most diverse artist I listen to.
GeometryGeometry by Jega
Buy used from: $8.49
Probably my favorite artist on Planet Mu besides Mu-Ziq. This is the most beautiful yet hardcore electro album ever. Also check out spectrum for drill & bass stylings.
Hard Normal DaddyHard Normal Daddy by Squarepusher
Buy new: $13.98 / Used from: $7.83
Legendary artist, led IDM/Breakcore into the 21st century. Later albums are more breakcore, I prefer his earlier albums where some tracks sound like they could have been played by a jazz ensemble.
Not for ThreesNot for Threes by Plaid
Buy new: $14.98 / Used from: $3.00
If you are into warm songwriting and melodies, Plaid is what you are looking for. This disc was the type of music I wanted to hear, years before I found it.
MusipalMusipal by Wagon Christ
Buy new: $12.98 / Used from: $5.20
Luke Vibert makes music under a few names but wagon christ is my favorite. It strikes sort of a vibe between IDM/Electronic and more DJ Trip hop stuff. Check out Reciever, wicked song!
Vocal Studies & Uprock NarrativesVocal Studies & Uprock Narratives by Prefuse 73
Buy new: $16.98 / Used from: $5.37
Prefuse 73/Scott Herron is perhaps warps best artist since 2000. Unlike most of the newer Glitch-hop artists, prefuse combines his incredible chopped up vocals and hiphop with progressive songwriting.
Now You KnowNow You Know by Machine Drum
Buy new: $25.98 / Used from: $15.99
Machine Drum is one of the first artists off of miami's merck label. Chopped up vocals and hip hop beats may remind you of Prefuse, but this cd has incredible idm soundscapes that will entrance you.
Master-ViewMaster-View by Hexstatic
Buy new: $17.98 / Used from: $3.70
These 2 guys are both electronic musicians and video artists. Music is somewhat electro but some jazzier tracks fit more into the ninja tune roster. Theres a video for every song on the CD.
BricolageBricolage by Amon Tobin
Buy used from: $6.99
Classic Brazilian Jungle/Breakcore artist. Probably the most well know on Ninja Tune Records, features awesome jazz/jungle style drumming along with incredible cinematic soundscapes.
A Livingroom HushA Livingroom Hush by Jaga Jazzist
Buy new: $14.98 / Used from: $17.41
Jaga Jazzist is some of the most killer jazz ive ever heard. This is a ten man group with such a full and luscious sound it aint funny. Blends some electronics with more contemporary jazz.
Are You An AxolotlAre You An Axolotl by Nautilis
Buy new: $15.98 / Used from: $6.00
Electro/IDM Artist from Planet Mu records. Music is very dark & melancholy like some downtempo artists, But has much more energy and faster paced songs that keep you interested. Also checkout Sketches
European OnionEuropean Onion by Pluxus
Buy new: $15.98 / Used from: $0.77
Pluxus is a swedish based group that knows how to write some good songs. Some people might find the retro video game style silly, but the tunes sound great and are filled with warm melodies.
Upon CyclesUpon Cycles by Ooo
Buy new: $15.98 / Used from: $6.25
If you like electro you have to check out this newer release from Planet Mu. Somewhat Abstract/Glitchy but awesome songs and melodies remind me of more musical groups like plaid.
Winter in the Belly of a SnakeWinter in the Belly of a Snake by Venetian Snares
Buy new: $15.98 / Used from: $10.70
Aaron Funk has perhaps become Planet Mu's Flagship artist. Called the most defining breakcore artist of the 21st century, itmay be a bit much for some who are not used to loud drums&oddtime signature.
I Care Because You DoI Care Because You Do by Aphex Twin
Buy new: $13.96 / Used from: $2.23
I like Aphex Twin as much as the next guy however I am not an Aphex Head. But no reason to let his popularity spoil some great music check out this lo-fi classic for aphex's most defining work.
