The book that started it all for me. A discussion of the possibilities of what a computer can do, and what it can't do.

The first half is an explaination of the proof, the second half is the proof. The first half is better.

An excellent survey of the whole landscape of computer science. Simple enough for the novice, solid enough for the expert.

If you're gonna do any coding/programming, you need some good coding music. I might also recommend Operation:Mindcrime and Empire.

This math-heavy book has saved my butt on more than one occasion.

If you need to talk over serial ports you need this book, I did.

A common-sense book that states the obvious, which goes to show just how rarely we see the obvious and excersize common sense.

This was an amazing little book from the early 80's. Graphics, geometry, space-time curvature, relativity, and easy enough code up on your Apple II running UCSD Pascal.

I thought this book was amazing, I had no idea the encryption/security lengths gone to, to ensure that only your code runs on your machine. Should've been obvious to me, but it was a real eye opener.

Again, you should still have your book from college in a hip holster ready to be drawn on a moments notice. If you don't here is a cheap reference from Dover.
