	Zulu Dawn [VHS] Buy used from: $3.45 Prequel to "Zulu". Humiliating defeat of Brits by Zulus. Peter O'Toole as Lord Chelmsford plays the part with all the arrogance this true character deserves. Zulu attack truly frightening.

	Charge of the Light Brigade [VHS] Buy used from: $1.00 Errol Flynn is dashing and just right in this rousing epic ending in a bold charge during the Crimean War. The remake was historically accurate & a mess. This film makes even the couch potato sit up!

	Night Over Water by Ken Follett Buy new: $7.99 / Used from: $0.01 It's 1939. War is in the air. Follett has a good old time with this good old fashioned WWII thriller with an assortment of passengers e.g. fascist, movie star etc, on board a Pan American Clipper.
	U-571 (Collector's Edition) Buy new: $9.99 / Used from: $0.99 Best WWII submarine film. Better than "Das Boot". (No Nazi heros in this one) Crew tries to capture German Enigma machine. Everything feels real & Matthew McConaughey masters his role well.
	Three Came Home Buy new: $7.98 / Used from: $4.98 Colbert is perfect as Agnes Newton Keith in this true story of her and her family's internment in a Japanese prison camp during WWII. Get the DVD version. It's cheap too.
	Sinister Twilight: The Fall of Singapore by Noel Barber Buy used from: $5.99 Best book about the worst defeat by the British in WWII. Arrogance, stupidity & recklessness all contributed to the city's fall to an army of Japanese on bicycles! Barber makes you feel you're there.
	Glory (Special Edition) Buy used from: $3.66 Mathew Broderick is put in charge of training black soldiers e.g. Denzel Washington during the Civil War. While fighting rebel whites, they also stand up to northern racism.Battle scenes are stunning.
	Train of Life [VHS] Buy used from: $7.83 A village idiot comes up with a plan to help the entire shtetl (village) escape the Nazis? Make Nazi uniforms, refurbish an old train and nu? Get the hell out. Hilarious. French w/Eng. subs
	Changi Buy new: $26.99 / Used from: $14.72 Exquisite performances reveal the memories of 6 Aussie WWII vets as they prepare for a yearly reunion. The brutal Japanese POW camp in their memories have imprisoned them for life.
	Band of Brothers Buy new: $59.99 / Used from: $39.99 Most of you have heard of or seen this epic about WWII. I've watched it 3 times and it's one of the finest films about that war. Every actor pulls it off. Shows war is no fun video game.
	The Women (Snap case) Buy used from: $6.68 War isn't all bullets; 1939's "The Women" is hilariously shot full of catty wits and the best stars of the time. Joan Crawford is the femme fatale & Roz Russell is in pre-Auntie Mame mode.
	The Search [VHS] Buy used from: $14.99 Montgomery Clift in his1948 film debut in post-war story of a boy searching the ruins of Europe for his mother, opera star Jarmila Novotna. Voice overs can get a little annoying but film is brilliant.
	Real Glory [VHS] Buy used from: $9.86 For sheer action, Philipine muslim fanatics fighting American imperialism at beginning of 20th century is stunning. Gary Cooper is perfection as army medic.
	The Last Emperor - Director's Cut Buy used from: $7.99 Epic film about Pu-Yi, the last emperor of China, Used as puppet by Japanese prior & during WWII. . Brilliant color, story & acting. Raised to rule, the emperor is trapped by his own upbringing.
	Juarez [VHS] Buy used from: $20.00 Napoleon tried to put Hapsburg prince on Mexico's throne. Stiff Paul Muni as Juarez opposes it, Camera revolves round Bette Davis as she rages at Napoleon's deceit making that scene alone worthwhile
	For the Boys Buy new: $9.98 / Used from: $2.99 Critics hated this; I loved it. Bette Midler & James Caan are dynamite as USO performers during 3 wars from WWII & up. Critics said star chemistry was absent, Sometimes show biz is like that.
