From the Author
Welcome to the publishing revolution. The major publishing houses have held all of the cards for many years and have only allowed a select few to participate in the publishing game. Considering that 98% of all manuscripts are rejected or automatically thrown into the slush pile, you will be part of the majority as a self-published author and not the minority. So please don't look at self-publishing as a second class choice, because it isn't. Self-publishing is the first choice for many authors and they wouldn't have it any other way. As a self-published author you control your content, what is or isn't included in your manuscript. You have greater earnings potential. You can get your material to the market quicker, unlike traditional publishers that can take one and a half to two years to get a book to the market. If it takes you too long to get your material to the market, the competition will beat you to the punch and take away your thunder.
But what about marketing and promoting your book?
If you take advantage of the marketing strategies in this book you will enjoy a better online presence than many traditional publishing houses, simply because they haven't kept up with the internet curve.
What do you get?
1. How to layout your Word document for online digital printing.
2. How to create a professional PDF file to submit.
3. How to create a professional looking book cover with PowerPoint.
4. How to apply for a Library of Congress Control Number (LCCN)
5. Where and how to apply for an ISBN, a must have to sell books.
6. How to get your book listed under more categories on Amazon and other sites.
7. How to make your book cover highly visible in the categories related to your subject matter.
Customer Reviews
Very useful, informative, accurate, and interesting
I bought this book when I was in the manuscript stage of my first book. I found this book to be a very educational one as I liked to write, but had no idea how to publish. This book is a very useful read and has much information in it that I refer to often. I now have my book on Amazon in Kindle format and coming soon in paperback thanks to this information. Bravo to the author. Great job!
Excellent
I have been writing for years, but only had one short story published. I've expanded my horizons, and in the past three years I have nearly finished two novels, and I am in the process of beginning a third. Over 20 years I have read countless books on the in and outs, development, and problems with putting together works, and I needed more detail information on what steps to take from there, i.e., looking for an agent and then onto publishing. Most of them are not very good, and offer only minimal information, but this particular book was different. It was not wordy, more simple in form, and more basic in the discussion of writing and then onto publishing. I think it is the best I've found, and from the standpoint of the inexpensive price, it's a steal. Well worth the purchase.
Not the best
If this book is its own example of self-publishing, then don't do it - at least not with the company he recommends. The book was poorly written in places and in other places poorly laid out, even to the point of repeated paragraphs and aborted lines resumed after a gap of several lines. Even a mediocre copy editor would have helped.
