Editorial Reviews
From School Library Journal
Adult/High School–Biggs and Hunkin make constructing this art look simple with their clear, step-by-step text and illustrations. The section on techniques describes the basics of designing a mosaic, selecting colors and materials, cutting and fixing the tiles, and finishing the piece. Each of the projects is introduced in double-page format with a brief description and a list of tools and materials needed opposite a stunning photograph of the finished product. Most of the text is presented as captions under a series of photographs depicting the graduated process of making each mosaic. Templates are provided in the back of the book where one can also find a list of suppliers that may sell several of the designs as kits. Although the projects presented are not rated beginner, intermediate, or advanced, it's apparent that the authors intended them to be fun learning experiences. The level of difficulty is limited only by one's own imagination.–Claudia C. Holland, Chantilly Regional Library, Fairfax County, VA

Good introduction to mosaics with some interesting ideas
This is a pretty straightforward book, so the projects are tables, picture frames, candle holders, and a few strictly decorative items. The techniques section looked familiar to me, it's from another, previous, book, probably one that I had seen in the library. Anyway, the technique section is sufficient to get an adult up and running with mosaicing using broken pottery/ceramics and glass squares.
My young daughters thought the projects depicted in the book were universally impressive. So we're going to do a couple of similar mosaics.
All in all, good, basic book, perfect for the beginner, or someone looking for a selection of basic mosaic projects.
Nice resource
This book has beautiful color photos and examples of mosaic designs. It has a wide variety of projects. Glad I bought it.
It's great, BUT...
It is an excellent book but if you have any others of hers there is too much overlap. All her books are good, but not sure I needed another so similiar.
