The Frye Company is the oldest continuously operated shoe company in the United States. Founded in 1863 by John A. Frye, a well-to-do shoemaker from England, and family-run until 1945, Frye products have a long and illustrious history. Frye boots were worn by soldiers on both sides of America's Civil War, soldiers in the Spanish-American war, and by Teddy Roosevelt and his Rough Riders. Didn't Fit--Had to Return
I read some of the other reviews and noticed that someone wrote that the boots run large. Therefore I got the size 7 (I am somewhere between a 7 and 7.5). I forgot to take into account that I use Birkenstock inserts for arch support, and once I put those in, the boots were just way too small. However--they looked great and I am sure I would have loved them if they had fit!! Maybe I will order another pair in the future.

Beautiful!!! I love these boots!!!!!!!!!!! It took me weeks to decide which Frye boots I wanted and I am thrilled with my choice. They were broken-in after one wear! They look good with everything!!!!!

style and quality are impeccable. my only problem is that its too wide in the calf area. i'm 5'5 and 110 lbs. i just wear it with thick leg warmers or not too skinny jeans so it wont emphasize my small calves. the color is dark brown but it has a reddish tint in daylight that makes it look worn.
