Amazon.com Product Description
If you're a fan of Frye boots, you'll love their Ada pump. The burnished leather upper features distressed pleating at the open toe, while leather linings offer breathability. The conical heel creates a chic silhouette.
From the Manufacturer
The Frye Company is the oldest continuously operated shoe company in the United States. Founded in 1863 by John A. Frye, a well-to-do shoemaker from England, and family-run until 1945, Frye products have a long and illustrious history. Frye boots were worn by soldiers on both sides of America's Civil War, soldiers in the Spanish-American war, and by Teddy Roosevelt and his Rough Riders. When home-steading drew adventurous New England families to the West during the mid and late 1800's many of the pioneers wore Frye Boots for the long journey. Today Frye remains true to its roots with its line of heritage boots, but continues to innovate as it introduces chic new handbags, pumps, and sandals to its collection.
Customer Reviews
Adorable but...
I love Frye and own many of their boots, sandals etc. So I finally decided to give their pumps a try.
The pros: Comfortable stacked heel, easy to stand and walk in all day. Soft leather footbed. Nicely designed. Look great on and go with everything (I bought the black)
The cons: The peep toe and decorative stitching rub horribly on the tops of my toes. Giving them a test walk to a restaurant 2 blocks away essentially shaved off the skin on my toes!
But I invested in some moleskin (its like $3 at the pharmacy) and some no slip treads for the bottom (they have leather soles) and for the most part they are okay now. Zappos and others have all 5 star ratings for this particular shoe, so maybe I am just more delicate than most.
But for the money, I would hope my skin would stay on my feet.
POOR Quality!!
I bought these, and wore them for a couple of months - total about 3-5 times. They stretch out very fast, so buy a size down if you decide to get these. They are very cute, but also when you try to walk on carpet, there is nothing on the bottom of the shoe, so you will slip and fall. Also, the insides have several seams that will ball up under the feet, creating the feeling like there is something stuck inside the shoe. i contacted Amazon too late to return for full credit and they did offer to issue a partial credit. I'll just put them in the rummage sale pile, but man - what a WASTE OF MONEY!
