Inexpensive, espresso colour is pretty
I just purchased this crib in store at Target in espresso colour and put it together by myself (7 mths pregnant) -- the only part I needed assistance with was getting the drop side on, although if I really needed to I probably could have done that on my own too. :) I felt the instructions were clear, if you'd like a preview of them before you buy they're available on the GracoBaby website. There is slightly uneven staining. I thought it was barely noticeable except on one of the legs. I also noticed that were some slight dings in the wood but they were stained over -- meaning the dings were present in the factory itself. Because it is such a dark color, they aren't noticeable until you get close to inspect, but it seems like it would ding/scratch easy (I did not test. :-p). One thing I noticed, if you're planning on using it as a full size headboard, be aware that both legs of the headboard will have holes running down them, from where the sides of the crib and the mattress spring attached. The holes are stained so it might not be that noticeable.. or maybe the bedframe/mattress will cover those.. I'm not sure. But just something to be aware of. Had to get a defective bolt replaced and the company was quick to respond and ship it out. Overall, I'm happy with the purchase!
BEAUTIFUL!
I love this crib. Not only is the design classy, the color (espresso) is beautiful! I am Thoroughly satisfied with my choice. The quality is FABULOUS for the price and Consumer Reports even rated it as tied for 2nd with Pottery Barn's "Dana" ($500) and second only to Bellini's "Bella" ($930), which doesn't even convert to a toddler or day bed as this one does. Considering it's HUGE dollars less than both of these, I would DEFINITELY recommend this crib to anyone else.
Better Than I Had Expected!!!
At first, I wasn't so sure about this crib. I am one of the biggest bargain hunters out here. I thought to myself, "Deals this good are (most times) too good to be true." But then I read the other reviews and I figured there had to have been something good about this crib for so many people to give it a thumbs up. I so gave it a shot and now I am able see the deal for myself!!! -I am very impressed-
When I ordered this crib, Amazon.com sent me an email letting me know that the expected shipment date would be September 15th. I got it on time!!! I am six months pregnant and I wondered how I would be able to put this crib together all my own (my husband is away at the moment). It turned out to be so easy to put togerther. The only thing that frustrated me was the fact the the parts were not labeled (A,B,C,D...) like the manual showed, which made me sort-of put some parts up wrong. However, I figured it out really quick and in no time, my little girls' sleeping quarters was up and ready to go!!!
I was so excited to see how beautiful the bedding and the mobile thingy looked with it too. I just love it!!!
(Side Note: [...] which turned out to be a perfect match for this crib- in my opinion. Plus the pattern on the mattress was so cute and the quality was perfect for such a cheap price).
