Wonderful Devotional Tool
First, this particular Bible is fantastic, and has worked great for me to journal my thoughts and what I felt God was speaking to me through a particular passage. It's the only Journaling Bible I could actually find.

As for the ESV version, I have really grown to love it. My Bible history has been KJV, NKJV, NASB, and now ESV. I have loved how accurate the ESV text has been, yet clear and understandable. It have no "apologies" for it, and have read scholarly reviews that are similar.

Also, within this Bible, is the Daily Reading Bible plan, to read through the whole Bible in a year. Because of the ESV's strong toolset, I also have this same reading delivered to my inbox, my browser (through RSS feed), making it easy for me to read scripture throughout the day.

Serving in full-time ministry, and teaching at my local church has made this a great resource, and one that I would recommend!

I first seen this bible while I was on vacation. I decided to do a web search for it when I returned home. The price was right on Amazon. When the Bible arrived I was very satisfied with the quality of the leather & the texture of the paper. I've always used the KJV, it was easy to adjust to the ESV. I would recommend this Bible to everyone (and I already have).

Great translation - but I can't see it!
I am very excited by the introduction of the ESV to the market. It is a well researched translation with an impressive group of scholars standing behind it and a number of respected pastor's endorsing it.

However, I am saddened by the low quality of the prints that are being distributed by Crossway, the publisher of the ESV. The cover designs are cool and some of their ideas are great, but there are some serious problems. Take for example the Journaling Bible. There is plenty or room to write and the pages are thick, but the print is very small - 7.5 font!

I have good vision but the size of the font makes this format very impracticable. I hope Crossway is paying attention and updates this problem in future editions.
