A thermal plastic urethane spine forms the next layer of the sandwich. This strong, yet lightweight platform gives the Sitka Plus XCR torsional rigidity for uneven terrain, and also offers support underneath the arch that reduces foot fatigue, especially when carrying an overnight pack. A compression molded EVA midsole forms the top layer of the footframe, supplying a lightweight sheet of cushioning that reduces the impact of long days on the trail. Its cupped shape adds stability too. For wet days the Garmont Men's Sitka Plus XCR Hiking Shoe features a GORE-TEX lining underneath the nubuk leather upper for waterproof and breathable comfort.
