Great, if you live in England!
Plants for Shade devotes too many pages to the obvious (how to dig a hole) and too few for what's needed - an inventory of plants that will thrive in the shade. Like the bulk of remaindered gardening books, it was printed in the U.K. and only addresses plants that every British gardener already knows about.
We KNOW Hostas like shade. Anything else?
Gardeners in the rest of the world need more imaginative solutions for differing climates. The cover's pretty, but this book is too much frosting and no enough cake.
