The best reference book for orchids5
Being a student orchid show judge I need to familiarise myself with as many species as possible and I need a quick and easy reference book for that purpose.

The Botanica book is superb, it has just enough cultural information to get me by and helps me gain knowledge of a larger range of orchid species than any other book in my collection.

I do wish there was a little more cultural information on each species but this is the best on the market so far.

I take it to my orchid shows and I can't recommend it highly enough for both the novice and experience orchid keeper.

Botanica's Orchids: Over 1200 Species5
Gorgeous book at a reasonable price! Great photos, good representation of many species. Not all intergenerics represented. Brief descriptions of care - may want to cross-reference with other books for in-depth care.

A Gem of a book!5
This compact guide provides straight to the point advice on identifying and growing the huge range of orchids. Each listed species has an accompanying full-color picture which makes identification really easy. Information on climate and cultivation of each species takes the guess-work out of deciding whether a hobbyist would be successful with growing it. Add to this the reasonable price and easy to carry size, this is a must for both beginner and intermediate hobbyists.
