Customer Reviews
The game is boring and difficult for younger children
You would think that because this is a game based off a childrens movie they would make this easier for children to actually play it. My first complaint is that if your child isn't on a 3rd-5th grade reading level don't bother looking at this game. Basically if they can't read words like "genetically" you will be spending a lot of time reading them the game. You would figure that a game geared towards kids would have the characters speak the words instead of writing every single one of them out. Second the mini games are not only boring but I can hardly understand what to do, I don't know how they can expect kids to understand. Even after staring at the directions before the game starts, once I hit "go" I am stuck staring at the screen trying to figure out what I should be doing. My son who loves games like Animal Genius, Mario, The Simpsons Game, etc. played this game for about 30 seconds and then went back to Mario. Lastly, the whole game, (at least the first hour of it, I got bored and turned it off after that), is going back and forth to the same places so if your child or you get bored quickly, this is not the game for you.
For 8+ year olds.
I bought this game for my 7 year old. (First game) And she didn't really understand it at first. I figured out that due to all the reading, so she was a bit discouraged. But as I started reading with her and explaining how get up and get going, she actually enjoyed it! This was a bit above her reading level, but hey, how else do they learn and grow!? Now she plays on her own and the enjoyment of the game encourages her to spend extra time trying to read the words! (more time spent actually playing then reading of course) I liked the game because of the reading. And I know she liked the game because she didn't put it down for 2 hours! Due consider that this was her very first game. She has yet to experience other titles. :)
