Buy new: $21.95 / Used from: $13.99
A great puzzle game of matching and unlocking pieces and covering the board in a timed fashion, each level gets harder and more challenges to face.
Crosswords DSCrosswords DS
Buy new: $19.82 / Used from: $13.99
Word Game Fans try this one-- crosswords, anagrams, wordsearches with a great interface. Some seem rather simple, but you will be surprised what stumps you. Might also consider newspaper based crosswords which have a less nice interface, but larger vocabulary.
Puzzle Quest: Challenge of the WarlordsPuzzle Quest: Challenge of the Warlords
Buy new: $80.98 / Used from: $16.74
I can't say enough fun stuff about this one-- seems simple but the more you play the more your find. I finished the game and played it again-- and again--- and again! Great puzzle action with other varities of elements that make bejeweld seem way too simple.
ScrabbleScrabble
Buy new: $29.96 / Used from: $26.32
Just got this one, and I LOVE it. Has times and un-timed versions of the game with up to four players (real or AI), exercises from word choices to score tactics, and even a complete built in scrabble dictionary useful at those real-life word game sessions. And a card game I have never seen before, but is really fun.
Age of Empires: The Age of KingsAge of Empires: The Age of Kings
Buy new: $96.06 / Used from: $15.85
If you like strategy games, not just tactics, then give this one a try. Just like those big old board games combined with computer games. Works well on the small screen.
Professor Layton and the Curious VillageProfessor Layton and the Curious Village
Buy new: $24.82 / Used from: $24.29
WHOA dude-- I thought it would be easy kid puzzles-- far from it! Full of all kinds of challanges from word, logic, math, spacial, you name it combined with a no-stress storyline and investigation of a strange city and people. Great audio and graphics and interface. But expect to be stumped and use the Hint options even if you are well educated like me!
The Legend of Zelda: Phantom HourglassThe Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass
Buy new: $32.98 / Used from: $18.99
I thought this was sort of a kid thing too, but in fact its huge roaming world with lots to see and some logic puzzles too.
Big Brain AcademyBig Brain Academy
Buy new: $44.98 / Used from: $10.93
All of these brain based games are pretty cool, especially if you loved those general sorts of IQ tests we took as kids. There are different categories of tests, and you can earn grades and points as you play. This one had a nice interface too.
Apollo Justice: Ace AttorneyApollo Justice: Ace Attorney
Buy new: $11.75 / Used from: $13.49
Good and some annoyances with this series. I loved the mystery, the investigation, and piecing the story together, but there was some annoyance with trying to figure out how to tell the game what you knew and figured out. I have heard that this sort is even better in games like Hotel Dusk and such, but have yet to try them myself.
