PSP Daxter Entertainment Pack - Ice SilverPSP Daxter Entertainment Pack - Ice Silver
Buy used from: $125.00
This is what you'll want to buy. It comes with the PSP, an awesome platformer, 1 GB memory, and a family guy umd. What else do you need?
Syphon Filter Dark MirrorSyphon Filter Dark Mirror
Buy new: $9.81 / Used from: $2.95
I like to think of Syphon Filter as sort of a poor man's Metal Gear Solid. Great stealth/third person shooter action for the PSP.
Syphon Filter: Logan's ShadowSyphon Filter: Logan's Shadow
Buy new: $12.45 / Used from: $4.99
Another amazing Syphon Filter game on the PSP, this one's not quite as good as Dark Mirror in my opinon, but still very very good.
Ratchet & Clank: Size MattersRatchet & Clank: Size Matters
Buy new: $19.82 / Used from: $1.71
R&C make it on to the PSP at long last. The controls are slightly off, but why would you pass up this game? It's just much harder than on consoles. It will also be released for PS2 in '08.
Gitarooman LivesGitarooman Lives
Buy new: $24.49 / Used from: $13.99
I like this as much as Guitar Hero; it's slightly weirder with no recognizable tracks, but it is much harder because the notes aren't just on a board, they come at you from all over the screen.
Lumines IILumines II
Buy new: $20.99 / Used from: $7.99
An addictive puzzler in the vein of Tetris. Each block you clear adds beats to the music, which adds an interesting twist.
The Simpsons GameThe Simpsons Game
Buy new: $26.43 / Used from: $14.96
Sure, the controls aren't perfect, it gets a tad repetitive, and it's on the short side, but it is funny as heck. There is some great humor mixed with decent platforming. I thought it was worth my buck.
Hot Shots Golf Open TeeHot Shots Golf Open Tee
Buy new: $11.95 / Used from: $4.00
Cartoony graphics but tons of depth, this is actually my favorite golf series.
Final Fantasy Tactics: The War of the LionsFinal Fantasy Tactics: The War of the Lions
Buy new: $19.82 / Used from: $10.98
Some great strategy/RPG to go on the PSP. Tons of gameplay in a tiny disc. It's one of the best FF games I've ever played.
X-men Legends II: Rise of ApocalypseX-men Legends II: Rise of Apocalypse
Buy new: $113.78 / Used from: $11.20
Superhero action/RPG in the vein of Marvel: Ultimate Alliance, except this is the X-Men. Some very good graphics for a handheld.
Tomb Raider LegendTomb Raider Legend
Buy new: $29.99 / Used from: $9.28
One of the few handheld ports of a console game that is just as good. This was the game that restored Lara Croft to her gaming goddess status.
SOCOM U.S. Navy Seals Fireteam Bravo 2SOCOM U.S. Navy Seals Fireteam Bravo 2
Buy new: $16.15 / Used from: $7.84
Some good tactical/third person shooter gameplay. SOCOM is one of the more successful PS2 franchises, and it works very well on the PSP.
LocoRocoLocoRoco
Buy new: $29.00 / Used from: $9.09
Wacky, weird, and wild platformer that has an art style rivaled by very few. It's different, but good to try.
Grand Theft Auto Vice City StoriesGrand Theft Auto Vice City Stories
Buy new: $14.99 / Used from: $9.18
I would be remiss not to mention this. GTA on a PSP is very very intriguing, and slight control issues aside, it works very well. More solid gangster gameplay.
Grand Theft Auto Liberty City StoriesGrand Theft Auto Liberty City Stories
Buy new: $14.99 / Used from: $7.97
The other GTA on PSP. While the lack of a 2nd analog stick can be disorienting, this is still an epic experience in a portable proportion.
Castlevania: The Dracula X ChroniclesCastlevania: The Dracula X Chronicles
Buy new: $15.99 / Used from: $5.98
Solid Castlevania 2D gameplay that we know and love on the PSP. Best Castlevania handheld game for a while.
Sega Genesis CollectionSega Genesis Collection
Buy used from: $10.79
Great classic games for an extremely low price to take on the go. All the greats are here: Shinobi, Ecco, etc. Best collection I've played.
Jeanne D'arcJeanne D'arc
Buy new: $19.95 / Used from: $7.82
My current favorite RPG on the PSP. This will keep you questing for hours on end. It's got a very good backstory too. Extremely underrated.
Metal Gear Solid Portable OpsMetal Gear Solid Portable Ops
Buy new: $124.74 / Used from: $25.50
Snake's back! After the lackluster Acid card games, this is a welcome return to the gorgeous MGS gameplay I love. One of the must-buy titles for this handheld.
Metal Gear Solid Portable Ops PlusMetal Gear Solid Portable Ops Plus
Buy new: $15.25 / Used from: $6.98
20 bucks for some new missions, features, and online options? Sort of an expansion to one of the PSP's greatest games.
Burnout LegendsBurnout Legends
Buy used from: $16.48
One of my very favorite PSP games....Burnout translates perfectly to the PSP. The graphics are also amazing for a handheld game.
The WarriorsThe Warriors
Buy new: $113.52 / Used from: $17.98
Oh Warriors! Come out to play-ay! Great gang-brawler that is a very slight GTA clone but treads very far off the beaten path. It looks just as good on the PSP as on the PS2.
Virtua Tennis World TourVirtua Tennis World Tour
Buy new: $72.94 / Used from: $3.44
The best tennis game on the PSP period. And what else do you need? Satisfies all those Pong addicts the world over.
Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell EssentialsTom Clancy's Splinter Cell Essentials
Buy new: $66.64 / Used from: $4.98
It's the weakest Splinter Cell yet, but still pretty good. I love this series and this is a very good title. If you're ever in need of more stealth action, pick it up.
God of War Chains of OlympusGod of War Chains of Olympus
Buy new: $6.94 / Used from: $6.99
It's God of War on the PSP!! It will detail what Kratos was up to before the original GoW. While it's a bit short, it's still amazing!
Secret Agent ClankSecret Agent Clank
Buy new: $12.79 / Used from: $9.77
Clank gets his own PSP game, much like Daxter. It's more espionage/stealth oriented than a regular Ratchet game.
