Generac's iX Series inverter technology takes the raw power produced by the generator and passes it through a special electronic microprocessor to provide clean and stable power, safe for computers and other sensitive electronic devices. Designed for life on the road, its durable, lightweight, compact design with built-in handle offers portable power for camping, tailgating, and recreational use. Inverter generators utilize a different type of alternator than standard generators to generate AC power. The raw power produced by the generator is converted into AC power by a digital inverter module. The inverter technology reduces the generator's size and weight. But more importantly, it allows the engine to run at varying speeds, significantly reducing noise and fuel consumption levels. The Generac iX Series has clean consistent output power with less than 3% total harmonic distortion especially important with sensitive electronic devices such as computers and DVD players.

OK product with improvement needed.
Generac ix2000 I bought this product mid October. It took a few weeks to get to me. When I got it the Choke lever was broken off and not even in the package. Generac sent me a new one after about another month of waiting with a return label for the broken one to be returned . The choke lever was on this one but looked like it was made from some very cheap plastic. I set it up and was very careful in moving the lever since the first one was broken off. Once I moved it it came apart and broke in the exact same spot as the other one had come to me broken. So a month and a half later I still have no generator and no $600. From the short time it was running I could tell it was louder than I would think it would be. About lawn mower loud. Very dissapointed in the product! I wish I bought it locally so I could return it and get my money back.

(Edit:After contacting Generac personally they were very professional and helpful. They had someone local that I was able to take the unit to to get repaired. The local dealer was quick in repairing the product under warranty.)
