Not a SwanNot a Swan by Michelle Magorian
Buy used from: $2.19
Good book. Loved the detail. The setting was very interesting as well.
FlippedFlipped by Wendelin Van Draanen
Buy new: $8.95 / Used from: $0.01
I liked how you see the different POV that was interesting. I don't remember much about the book. I vaguely remember something about a tree?
Uglies (Uglies Trilogy, Book 1)Uglies (Uglies Trilogy, Book 1) by Scott Westerfeld
Buy new: $8.99 / Used from: $0.32
Amazing book. The is extraordinary suspense and it just keeps you yearning for more.
Pretties (Uglies Trilogy, Book 2)Pretties (Uglies Trilogy, Book 2) by Scott Westerfeld
Buy new: $8.99 / Used from: $0.99
Good book but could've been better. The idea of Zane was a really nice twist but the story is beginning to be dragged out. I don't like the knowledge that you already know what is going to happen operation wise.
Specials (Uglies Trilogy, Book 3)Specials (Uglies Trilogy, Book 3) by Scott Westerfeld
Buy new: $12.44 / Used from: $0.24
In my opinion, worst in the series. Very dragged out. For book collectors its not available in the USA in paperback and the series began in paperback. Plus the paperback editions are glossy and don't match in size with the originals. That is a major let down.
Midnighters #1: The Secret HourMidnighters #1: The Secret Hour by Scott Westerfeld
Buy new: $8.99 / Used from: $0.30
Interesting book. Very original idea and a great addition to any mystery/scifi/thriller collection.
Midnighters #2: Touching DarknessMidnighters #2: Touching Darkness by Scott Westerfeld
Buy new: $8.99 / Used from: $2.49
Great book. May actually be BETTER than the first which is particularly unusual.
PeepsPeeps by Scott Westerfeld
Buy new: $8.99 / Used from: $0.86
Nice twist to the old boring romance of a vampire novel.
So YesterdaySo Yesterday by Scott Westerfeld
Buy new: $8.99 / Used from: $0.01
Very innovative. =] Short book that, if made into a movie, would be a 30-minute show.
The Penelopiad: The Myth of Penelope and Odysseus (Myths, The)The Penelopiad: The Myth of Penelope and Odysseus (Myths, The) by Margaret Atwood
Buy used from: $3.10
Such immense vocabulary. Very nicely written and innovative idea. Its greek mythology COMPLETELY re-written
Walking NakedWalking Naked by Alyssa Brugman
Buy used from: $0.01
Very down-to-earthish type of book. Touches on pestering subjects. The whole idea of streaking was a bit childish but makes the whole book so much more metaphorical.
How I Live NowHow I Live Now by Meg Rosoff
Buy new: $7.99 / Used from: $0.01
The book was alright. It bothered me that it had absolutely NO quotation marks, only commas. There were many gramatical errors!
SpeakSpeak by Laurie Halse Anderson
Buy used from: $0.01
Very enjoyable book. Related to Catalyst, (another book by the same author), the idea of the constantly modified name made the book cheesy.
CatalystCatalyst by Laurie Halse Anderson
Buy new: $7.99 / Used from: $0.01
The books structure was all out of whack and I really saw no point to this book. Only one thing was learned throughout the entire book and the plot was unknown until abour 50 pages into it.
CrankCrank by Ellen Hopkins
Buy new: $9.99 / Used from: $3.55
This book was very up-front about a real issue and was written in an almost poetic form. Profane at times but a very good story behind it. Should not be mistaken for the movie Crank.
Farewell to Manzanar: A True Story of Japanese American Experience During and After the World War II InternmentFarewell to Manzanar: A True Story of Japanese American Experience During and After the World War II Internment by Jeanne Wakatsuki Houston
Buy new: $6.99 / Used from: $0.01
Required reading that I didnt enjoy. It jumped from place to place to place. It seems as if the author didnt revise it at all considering the events were all out of order.
Where Are the Children?Where Are the Children? by Mary Higgins Clark
Buy new: $7.99 / Used from: $0.01
The grammer is incorrect within the first page. The structure isn't amazing but the story is suspenseful. It is very sad as well.
