Another classic work, now taught in schools, and another retelling of a story which never grows old, and hits the Jungian archetypal spot. Just look at the number of knock-offs, and the entire genre of "Arthurian" fiction which has grown since this was written!

Prince Rupert! Grandma still loves this one, and so did her 17 year old grand, who, as I did at the same age,devoured it and declared it "so sad and soooo romantic!" This older generation of hist. fic. writers didn't always do their research, but this isn't the case with Irwin. If you want to turn literate teens on to history, go with Irwin, who can write, too.

Despite the fact that the charming, duplicitous Burr is the hero, I must have re-read this, laughing, a zillion times. The devastating portraits of more revered founding fathers is worth the price of admission, even if I am a huge fan of Alexander Hamilton.

The Fox Sisters tell all! This jewel is from one of the myriad talents who couldn't convince NYC. Plenty of solid research here, and a wonderfully engaging style.

Again, pretty much everything she has written is excellent. Delicious jewel-like sushi on the page, each piece organized with supreme care and art. I'm not the supermarket kind, either!!

Henry VIII--yawn----but this IS an entertaining read, with an interesting new take on a familiar cast of characters.
