A nice inexpensive, pair of geta, made in China. They're made of a softer wood than paulownia, but are a nice inexpensive way to see if you like wearing geta. When you order, the size choices appear to be shoe sizes, but they are actually the geta's length in inches. The 9.5 M=24 cm and should fit US men's 7-9 and women's 8-10. The 10 M=25.5 cm equal about US men's 9-10 and women's 10-11. See the review on japanesegeta.com under $15 geta (sorry, the price has gone up since the review was written).

Product Description

Japanese style wooden Geta sandals with red velvet straps. These "Geta" sandals are carved out of paulownia wood and raised high, so originally if you walk through mud or wet streets, your feet and kimono won't get wet! They are UNPAINTED, carved wood, lightweight and 9 1/2 INCHES or 10 INCHES long and about 4 inches wide. These are sold in inch length and NOT shoe size. (DO NOT use for dancing or running!) Each geta sandal is hand carved in CHINA from a single piece of wood.

These are excellent for use in cosplay, which is the reason why I purchased them. I have not tried them out over long distances, but in my experience so far they are very sturdy, well made, and easy to walk on. The wood seems light and probably will not stand up to heavy use (particularly over concrete, etc.), but for costume and photoshoot purposes they work quite well and I had no problems with them at all. For $20, this is a very good deal.
