The transmitter includes the Wearlink Coded function, which eliminates interference from other heart rate monitors. The transmitter's electrodes, which pick up the heart signals, are integrated right into the strap for added flexibility and comfort.
The OwnCal feature shows your energy expenditure during one exercise session as well as your accumulated kilocalories during several exercise sessions. It also allows you to set daily and weekly exercise goals in terms of calorie expenditure. OwnZones presets include basic, advanced, light, moderate, hard, and weight.
The M32's visual and audible alarms alert you when you reach your target heart rate zone. About Polar
The first EKG accurate wireless heart rate monitor was invented by Polar back in 1977 as a training tool for the Finnish National Cross Country Ski Team. The concept of "intensity training" by heart rate swept the athletic world in the eighties. By the 1990s, individuals were looking to heart rate monitors not only for performance training needs, but also for achieving everyday fitness goals. Today, the same concept of heart rate training is being used by world-class athletes as well as everyday people trying to lose weight. Polar is the leading brand among consumers, coaches, and personal trainers worldwide and the company is committed to not only producing the best products, but also being the leading educator on the benefits of heart rate based exercise.
Customer Reviews
Reliable, easy to use, and comfortable
I've been using the M32 for about a year. I had no previous experience with heart rate monitors before purchasing this product. I have found it to be a valuable aid in maximizing the results of my workouts. If all you want is beats per minute this product is probably overkill.
I use the M32 primarily on my bicycle, with the wrist unit mounted to the handle bars. In this configuration it always seems to capture the signal from the chest strap. While using it on a trainer I've compared its BPM to a good quality automatic blood pressure monitor, and it was spot on every time. Small changes in my pedal cadence are reflected in small changes in my BPMs.
The strap is relatively comfortable. I occasionally notice that it's present, but it's not uncomfortable in any way. It doesn't chafe or feel sticky or clammy. I just notice the slight pressure of it around my chest.
Once you read the manual it's a fairly easy device to use. The one area in which the manual could use improvement is the section where it explains how the upper and lower heart rate limits are set. All in all though, it's not too difficult to follow. I think it took less than 30 minutes to go through the instructions and understand how to set up and use the M32.
Polar Heart Monitor
I was very pleased with the "Polar M32 Heart Monitor" I'm not tech savvy but found the setup process very easy. As far as I can tell the monitor is very accurate and would recommend it to anyone who is interested in a affordable heart monitor.
Polar Watch
This is a great watch that is simple to use. It shows you the basic stats such as heart rate, excercise time, etc. The book explains in simple terms how to use it (which is good, because the first few times I used the watch, I wasn't fully aware of some of it's features.)It will also store all of your stats so you can see a total calorie burn, excercise time, etc. for all of your workouts combined. The only thing I wish this watch had was a mileage count for running/walking.
