Editorial Review
Plenty of classic board games have been updated over the years to varying degrees of success. An electronic talking component will be added or a litany of sound effects will be introduced to make game play more dramatic. And while some updates succeed in making the game more fun or at least more appealing to today’s tech-savvy kids, many others overcomplicate things and actually reduce the fun factor. Mystery Date, aside from a bit of updated photography is still pretty much the same game it’s always been as players move their pieces around a simple game board and then open a door to see which boy they’ll imaginarily go on a date with: the popular snowboarder, the suave fellow in a tux, or the nerd carrying a load of books. It’s a bit disappointing that the academic kid must be seen as the loser in this game but at least the game’s makers have kept tradition alive. --Charlie Williams

Great retro game4
I am always super happy to find a remake of a toy from the 70's that I remember. This game will sit in my collection and not get played with. I had trouble with the pictures of the dates that go behind the door. They are too thin and tear off the hinge. Just in putting it together I had one tear but managed to get it to work anyhow. Otherwise it is a nice game.

Classic Mystery Date: Still a classic!5
My 10 year old daughter purchased this game with a suggestion from me. I told her how much I enjoyed it as a child. When it arrived we dug right in. This game is simple enough that my six year old also could enjoy it. We had good mother and daughter fun and my girls enjoy playing it with their friends.

I finally got the board game I asked Santa for in the 70's!5
My 9 year old daughter and I were shopping and she spotted the mystery date game. I could not believe it! I grabbed it and hugged it to my chest! Finally! I had been waiting 30 years to be able to call this game my own. I thought we would play it once and I would put it away to keep for always. NOT! My daughter is an addict. She will not stop playing the game. She even plays it by herself. This game is truly a game that has held it's appeal through the ages. I am so happy they brought it back. Now my daughter can keep the game and play it with her daughter someday. Every little girl should have the Mystery Date game!
