Don't waste your money
My daughter got this for her birthday and was crying because it didn't work. We returned for another one and all that you could hear was static. We exchanged it for a Barbie. Next time I'm getting her a real version.

beep, beep, beep-beep
My 5 year old loves them, despite that they have a very, very limited range - only a few feet, I would estimate. That said, you can press a button on the front, and get the KP beep sound. The cartoon on the front is one of those dual "hold at a different angle to see the other picture" dealies. The antenna is bound to break off at some point, just a matter of time at this age...

Fun!
My sister and I got these at a local Wal-mart. And we love it! The picture on the screen and the computer is different, but it has the same concept. Wade and Kim are on mine and Ron and another pic of Kim on my sister's. It works great! While my sister is upstairs and I was downstairs, these walkie talkies work just fine. When you turn the volume up you can hear some static, but you can hear the voice clearly too.

It's totally awesome!
