Great Collector Set!!!!
First off, yes, this is an expensive set, but it is totally worth it for the older child/adult collector! The set is rated for 16 and up and with good reason. There are no numbered bags in this kit, and with over 3,000 pieces, this makes finding the pieces a bit more challenging than the normal sets. The construction itself was not difficult (I am an adult)and the pieces in it are amazing. The jester heads and gold pieces alone make this set really fun. Add the power functions (this was my first power function set) and the music and it is unbelievable! The set is built so that when you turn on the motor and the carousel spins, the music will start by itself. The only thing I could think that might make this set better is if it had lights. My children have been turning it off and on and there have been no issues with the durability. Once built, you need to put a hard board under it before you attempt to move it as the base piece is not strong enough to support the weight while moving. Looking for something fun to do? This set is it!

Simply wonderful
This LEGO set is simply wonderful! Get it before you have to pay a collectibles price for it. However, you may want to tell Amazon to pack it well before shipping, as Amazon recently does a bad job packing heavy non-book items.

what a pain in the butt
holly cr*p I got this set on friday and it is now Saturday the 5th of december. i am over whelmed by this set. a LOT of tiny pieces all seperated in a LOT of bags with no way of finding the right pieces for each step. let me put it this way, there are supposed to be 9 (nine) people to ride the "Grand Carousel" and yet the pieces for these bodies are in different bags. heads in bags with other pieces, bodies in other bags with other pieces, feet in yet other bags with more pieces. this is NOT a beginers set, star with something easier like the space shuttle. I am sure i will get this thing together and working SOMEHOW, i am just not sure how long it will take me.
