Those four rows of stitching are protected with a nylon webbing that are sewn three MORE times! Protective Webbing Additional industrial grade nylon webbing is sewn around the outside edge with three rows of stitching to cover and protect the first four rows of stitching Squeaker Safety Each Squeaker is safe and quiet because they are sewn into a nylon safety pocket beneath seven other layers of materials.

A must have for heavy chewers
There used to be only one company I would recommend for heavy chewers, but the problem is they lacked in the plush-like toy department (until the wubba came out).
Many people can relate to a dog lacking interest in some of the Kong products. One of my beloved family members absolutely loves 2 of them, but the younger pup won't touch anything that's not fuzzy. We've spent months trying to find something that would be a safe, non-stuffed, but still interesting toy that she would love.
Until we brought home this ring, we still haven't found one.
Keeping in mind that there is no such thing as an indestructable toy... this comes pretty darn close. But truthfully, that's not what's so great about it, in my mind.
What I love about this product:
1. Multiple layers. If/when the dog makes it through the first layer, there is still much more toy to go. Each of the Tuffies toys has multiple layers. The first one is fleece, the remaining ones are much stronger material.
2. No stuffing = no mess, and no worry about the pup getting to the center of the toy.
3. Quiet squeeker. Most dogs love things that squeek, mine are no exception. But this one's quiet. It's enough to keep them interested, not enough to drive me insane.
4. Interest. My dogs absolutely love this. My youngest actually chewed herself to sleep with it. She loves carrying it on her nose, and that she's able to maneuver it with her paw in the hole.
5. No small parts. There's nothing loose to pull off, swallow and choke on. In fact, the stitching pattern reinforces the fleece outside and hopefully will make it impossible (one can hope) for her to get through it.
Do I think this will last forever? Probably not. But I do think it will last for a while, much - much - much longer than the 10 minute life span that previous 'plush' toys have gotten in our household. My dogs love it, and I have peace of mind knowing that not only does she have something that will keep her interested while I'm busy, but I dont have to worry about anything that will hurt her.
I purchased this locally at a smaller natural pet store. I'm not sure the larger chain's carry it. You can order online through Amazon, or thorugh their website.
Tuff enough for my dogs
I've had this Tuffies Mega Ring for 3 weeks now. My Springer Spaniel and English Setter haven't made a dent in it, and they chew on it a lot.
toughest dog toy that exists
This puts other toys to shame. My dog loves to destroy most toys, but this isn't happening with this one. I think I should have bought a smaller version - my dog is pretty large, 60 pounds, but this size is probably too big even for him.
