The Surprising Best Choice
When I bought this set of Go stones, I actually expected to buy a nicer set afterwards. They were cheap enough that I didnt mind purchasing them now and then rebuying a more expensive set later. I am surprised to say I dont think I will be doing so because I am satisfied with these. They have a nice feel and decent weight. I don't particularly care for the plastic cases they come in so you may want to buy some bowls instead. I think these are suitable for the board game dabbler or amateur.

Good beginner set on the cheap
It is a good inexpensive WeiQi set. No board comes with the set, but they are usually flimpsy anyway, so you better buy it separately or make your own. The plastic containers come with the set did not close properly, so I simply replaced them with two good take-out-Chinese-food containers. My son complained that the color of the black GO smear on his hands. I am not sure of that. Thought I should wash them before use, but since they are "antibacterial", so I skipped the step. Maybe wash them can resolve the smear problem or wash the black color away entirely? Can't take the risk.

It is made of solid surface material, sort of "Corian" type - those material you can use as your countertop in stead of real stone. It feels a little light in the hand compare to YunZi. But good enough for Kids learning WeiQi. Did not try to smash it, so not sure if the "indestructible" claim is true or not. Liked the single convex shape, it stays in place.

pretty straight forward. cheap go stones that fit the bill. and they are "biodegradable", can you beat that? you should also purchase some additional bowls. the factory packaging is flimsy and you will drop the stones all over the place.
