About Sevylor
The road from Sevylor's founding in 1948 to its current role as the dominant supplier of a wide range of inflatables--such as kayaks, boats, and towables--is a long one, with plenty of original inventions and innovations along the way. Established in a city suburb of Vitry, France, by electronics engineer Berco Grimbert, Sevylor originally built electrical accessories, with a sideline business dedicated to using its high-frequency welding machines to manufacture PVC consumer goods. The first inflatable to receive rave notice was a small bathtub called the Dou Dou. Perfect for postwar France, the inflatable tub was portable, convenient, practical, easy to clean, durable, and, best of all, affordable. After moving to the picturesque Alsatian village of Buhl, the company expanded into developing valves, pumps, boats, inflatable pools, and a variety of water toys. In the ensuing years, Sevylor first developed a PVC that had "memory"--meaning it could return to its original shape regardless of temperature--and then made history by releasing an inflatable pool mattress with a headrest and circular pockets. In 1986, the company invented the Ski Bob, a real turning point in the evolution of the towables business. Today, Sevylor's innovative designs include tenders, hunting and fishing boats, specialty boats and kayaks, towables, snow tubes, air beds, pool floats, river tubes, swim and sport rings, and more.

Piece of junk
I bought this motor mount to use on Sevylor Fish Hunter 360 inflatable boat and Minn Kota Endura motor (36 pounds of thrust). First, the plastic plugs that were at the end of steel pipes broke and fell out when I inserted the bent ends of the pipes into the holes in the boat (near oars). Because the plugs broke, it was not possible to put them back. Next, the transom board was too low and it was not possible to install motor on it - the motor screws were interfering with the handle on the boat. I even went to Home Depot, bought a bigger plywood board, made holes it in and finally attached the motor. Finally, I tried it on the water. When in full thrust the motor noticeably bends the steel pipes holding the transom board. At any attempt to row the bent ends of the pipes come out of the holes near the oar mounts and the whole system gets lose. It is not possible to insert them back without completely removing the transom board with the motor, i.e. it cannot be done on the water. The pipes and plastic brackets used to adjust the length of the pipes seem very fragile, however they did not break yet. I wonder what would happen if someone uses it with more powerful gas motor...
Works great when you have all of the pieces!
I use this on a Sevylor 8ft Fish Hunter 250 raft and it works perfectly with my Minnkota Endura 30 trolling motor. Fits the boat snugly. If you get one you'll notice that the u-shaped bolts that hold the wood to the poles are facing inward in the instructions. I found that the mount fits my raft better with the u-shaped bolts facing outward, which makes the poles spread a little further apart, fitting the sockets on the back of the raft more easily.
The only problem I had was that one of the four wing-nuts came with no threads in it. So I had to grab a wing-nut at the hardware store. No big deal, really. Annoying, yes. But definitely worth it. Shipping was 5 days.
Works like a charm
If you have opposable thumbs and half a brain you can mount and use this quickly and easily. Just put it on the boat before you inflate then tighten all the screws afterwards. BAM! you're in business. I don't understand what the bad reviews are about. It's easy, it works, and it's solid and durable. No more rowing! Get your Sevylor mobile! I've got a Fish Hunter 360 and a Minn Kota 50# motor. I'm flyin' around the lake now!
