About the Author
Gary Chandler first visited Mexico as an exchange student from UC Berkeley in 1995, spending a semester in Mexico City and then four months teaching English in a tiny indigenous village in the mountains of Oaxaca. That trip was the first of many he would take to Latin America, Europe and Asia, while based in San Francisco. Gary has written for guidebooks on Guatemala, El Salvador, Honduras, Mexico, and Brazil. Between guidebook assignments, Gary has taught poetry and worked as a freelance reporter. Liza Prado spent almost every summer of her life in Mexico, from preschool to high school, visiting her grandparents and extended family in Monterrey and Mazatlan. After two and a half years of fascinating and intense work as a lawyer, Liza left the Bay Area and moved to Guadalajara, Mexico, where she and Gary were married. Over the next two years, they traveled to the Yucatan Peninsula, Belize, Honduras, Guatemala, El Salvador and Brazil. Liza plans to continue working as a travel writer, but (just in case) remains an active member of the State Bar of California.

Good for Riviera Maya, but....,4

This is a great guide book for those visiting either Cancun, Cozumel, or the Rivera Maya. It has good maps and up todate information on Lodging and great places to eat. I especially liked the listings and direction to the Cenotes! This guide however is not sufficient if you are planning on traveling inland to some of the ruin sites, for that I recommend you look into some other guide books (I recommend Lonely Planet YucatanI highly recommend visits to Coba and Chichen Itza at the bare minimum. Oh, and also take along the thriller A Tourist In The Yucatanfun beach read!

Very Informative5
I found this book to be very helpful and up to date. The details provided were first rate. It even listed the ferry schedule to Isla Mujeres - something that other guides only glossed over. The maps were useful too. There were a lot of information on cenotes, and where they are located.

I liked it so much that I have just bought the Moon travel guide to the Four Corners.

Really Good5
Really well put together, had alot of information that i didnt read about in the other Cancun books i've read. It got me ready to head back to Cancun and farther south then we ventured last time. Only thing i didnt like, where i had a different opinion was there take on all inclusive resorts. Maybe none of them have ever stayed at a Palace Resort down there. Other then that i really enjoyed it. When i head back it will be going with me for sure.
