Features walking tours of the city that I found interesting and fun. The restaurant recommendations are right on the money. This guidebook is more bulky than the Time Out Florence and The Michelin Green Guide Tuscany, but the walking tours are fun, restaurant recommendations good and the guide contains a wealth of information on Florence. In the end it comes down to whether or not you mind carrying it around with you, but definitely worth considering for your general guidebook for your trip to Florence.

Product Description

Florence in Detail is the perfect companion for the seasoned traveler who longs to experience the ongoing rich cultural tradition of Florence, not only through the major tourist draws such as the Duomo, the Palazzo Vecchio, the Uffizi, and the Accademia, but also on the narrow streets belonging to the local artisans and shopkeepers. The city’s magnetism is experienced through seventeen illustrated walking tours with twelve detailed maps; sprinkled throughout the book are quotes and suggestions from Florence’s most famous aficionados. This book provides abundant suggestions from locals, whose knowledge contributed heavily to the selection of hotels, attractions, nightspots, and restaurants. A "Best of" chapter offers information on the most romantic walks, the most delectable dining, and the top markets for artisanal crafts.
