Product Description

Florida has nearly 400 beaches--more than one for every day of the year. The Complete Florida Beach Guide is the ultimate companion for anyone planning a two-week vacation or an afternoon getaway.

Mary and Bill Burnham have visited each and every beach listed in their guide. Arranged by region, each listing provides directions, parking availability, hours, facilities (restrooms, showers, picnic shelters), fees, and contact information. They also tell you whether the beach is handicap accessible, pets are allowed, or lifeguards are present.

The Burnhams describe the condition of the sand and let you know if you'll have good luck hunting for shells. Information on nearby concessions, nature trails, nightlife, and opportunities for camping, fishing, kayaking, and beach driving is also provided. There's even a bit of natural history--how the beaches formed, what plants and wildlife you'll find--and helpful information about beach conservation and safety.

Whether your tastes run to family-friendly or clothing-optional, the Burnhams will help you find the beach that's right for you.

Great Beach Information5
This is a wonderful book if you want to take beaches seriously in Florida and are interested in trying different places. The book is divided into sections of Florida which makes browsing a particular area easier. It gives great information about each beach area, including adjacent areas for launching boats etc. It gives directions to get there, places to park, entry cost, length of beach and the writeup gives the kind of information you need to determine if it's a beach you'll like-- information such as what the facilities are like ( "kind of rough") and whether pets are allowed. It also gives a web site if you need more information as well as a phone number. It is a REALLY complete guide of Florida's beaches.
