From a time when dance music incorporated chord changes.Youth club / school discos were full of this stuff. Though some of the playing is a bit cute (funky?) the voices/orchestrations keep it...'bad'?

Rather oddly, they let the session musicians actually be the band which was a bit disastrous in terms of poster possibilities. Still, the singer & drummer were cute and the music knowingly sharp.
