This is the ultimate in Surround Sound and was already WAY ahead of it's time in 1973. Should be your FIRST surround sound purchase (in SACD)!

This fantastic concert had minimal re-editing, it was so pure. The sound is amazing! The second disc has the Bee Gees Biography with lots of extras - a great bargain!

Before you roll your eyes, some of these songs are real masterpieces of pop. The original recordings were amazing in themselves. Now in HYBRID SACD, you don't just hear Karen Carpenter inhale and breathe before she sings - you can hear her initially part her lips!

The best of the Rolling Stones remastered in DSD (similiar to HYBRID SACD), the bad boys sound even better in your living room. Check out all their earlier releases in this format, including, "Let It Bleed". Note that DSD is NOT surround sound, unless stated on box.

The classic album that has more artists cover her songs than most. Sounds incredible in SACD multi-channel format. Read the reviews to see which issues are stereo and which are multi-channel.

DVD Audio is arguably almost as good as SACD and this album proves it. Remixed to improve on the original masters, you hear things you never thought were there.

"Departure", "Ride My See-Saw" and "Legend Of A Mind" along with the other classics really make the original recording sound like tape hiss. Great remix, but unfortunately the second disc with extras is only in stereo.

The SACD version of this is clearly multi-channel and will blow you away. Strong, distinct bass, guitars, keyboards, special effects and vocals with Bowie songwriting make this SACD a knock-out! Note: This version shown is NOT the SACD - you'll have to hunt it down here on Amazon.com.

Bowie's live albums are not always perfect, but in DTS, he brings out the energy he shows on stage - and I was at this concert! Check out "Stage", as well!

Forget about the fancy camera angles. Bowie and his band really deliver in the 'round with this inexpensive DVD. Listen to Gail the bass player during "Under Pressure". Amazing! Also, check out "Reality" as a a HYBRID/SACD or as a DUALDISC (lots of extra video features) all in 5.1 surround!

This 'particular' double CD is NOT an SACD or DVD. You'll have to hunt for those on Amazon.com. For some reason, I cannot edit them into this list. For the version that is multi-channel, you need the DVD. The SACD is stereo only. The SACD is clearer but only available in stereo. If you have a "matrix" selection on your receiver, you can simulate surround sound from a stereo SACD.

This double disc set is remarkable in that, Bowie recorded ALL vocals and instruments in one take. He then took the backing vocals and placed them in the rear, pronounced his vocals to center front and changed some of the mixes completely! Check out "Fame" in particular!

I don't LIKE Streisand, particularly, but Barry Gibb has written, produced and co-sung such a great album for her that I had to include it. However, this is in DUALDISC format. One side is 5.1 Surround with videos and the other is the regular stereo CD. It is a thick format and I don't think it will carry on as being as popular as SACD, DVD or Dts.
