Product Description

This picture book's little boy visits the zoo, where he learns that "Giraffes doo-doo from way up high," and "monkeys doo-doo right in front of you!" But our cheerful little boy is different from the zoo animals, because he has learned how to sit on the toilet. Parents who share this humorous picture book with their child will discover that it's a pleasant and positive way to introduce them to toilet training. The color illustrations on every page will make boys and girls laugh as they begin to comprehend the story's point. The book concludes with confidence-boosting tips that parents and toddlers can read together. (Ages 2-4)

Editorial Reviews

From Publishers Weekly
A trip to the zoo provides Morgan (Oops, Sorry!) with the setting for a chirpy exegesis aimed at the potty-ready crowd. A round-faced boy with three wisps of hair visits eight habitats, taking note of each species' distinctive method of "doo-doo." As balls of dung exit the back of a pachyderm, the boy holds his nose and sees that "Elephants doo-doo bigger than you. Plop!" On the next spread, the boy and a giraffe watch with approving smiles as the latter "doo-doo[s] from way up high," and a toucan unfortunately leaves its droppings on the toddler's head. The boy, however, knows he's special because he uses a toilet—and the final spread finds him in the bathroom while all the zoo dwellers look on (the elephant helpfully offers a roll of toilet tissue in its trunk). Morgan's crayoned outlines and simply rendered hero give the pictures a childlike feel, while his animals exhibit a more expressive sense of shape, texture and movement—the tiger is particularly striking. The book does not have the hip artiness or tantalizing details of the genre's progenitor, Everyone Poops, but it's genial enough to elicit giggles. Standard toileting tips—for parents and kids—can be found in the preface and afterword. Ages 2-4.

Customer Reviews

My 3 year old daughter LOVED/S it!!!5
We bought this book during potty training because my daughter had fear about "poo-ing" in the potty....this book I think helped lesson her anxiety and of course since it is silly she LOVED and still loves it!! It isn't too expensive and was a great asset for our potty training!!

My Son Likes It3
It's a cute book about poo. My 2 year old enjoys it as he can pronounce the title. The illustrations are okay, not really my style. The story isn't as funny as a previous reviewer mentioned. I found the rhymes, or maybe the flow of the book to be a little weak.

Potty Training in Process4
We got this for our 2 1/2 yr old daughter since we are in the process of potty training. She loves to look at the book while she is pottying and refers to the character as 'Cailou' off PBS kids. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because each time it refers to going #2, it says Doo-Doo (we substitute Poo Poo, although that may not be any better). Overall, it is a great book!
