About the Artist
Johnette Downing is a multi-award winning singer and songwriter performing original music for children with Louisiana spice. She has received three Parents' Choice Awards, a Parents' Guide to Children's Media Award and a National Parenting Publications Award for her recordings for children. From Blues to Zydeco, Johnette's music is the right musical mix for fun. Yeah you right!

Another "WOW!" for Johnette Downing
This multi-award winning CD is a must-have for teachers who want to integrate music, movement, and the arts in their classroom. It's a hands-on, interactive CD that allow kids creative expression through the use of scarves. I used this CD with great success in classrooms ranging from pre-K through 2nd grades. Johnette's creative lyrics with clear and articulate instructions make using this CD in the classroom as easy as "ABC." "Water, Wind & World" allows students to explore the elements of earth while "Sacroiliac" pairs children together in a game that requires teamwork and mastery of motor skills. "Threading the Needle" is a surefire hit with pre-K through 1st grades, reminiscent of the antics of "London Bridge." I love the song "WOW!" which has the kids writing the word in the air with their scarves, spelling their names, and singing along. "The Second Line" pays homage to Johnette's New Orleans home, guiding the kids through a second line parade. The hardest part of the CD will be corralling the kids after all the laughing and fun is done. Johnette Downing is known for her child-friendly songs and with this CD, she has done it again. "WOW!" is all I have to say.
