Originally released in 1983, Salute was his first album recorded after he stopped drinking. It is very different from his other albums, with significant use of electric guitar by Lightfoot himself. There are some wonderful songs here, but Lightfoot doesn't perform any of them in concert anymore. Standouts are Whispers of the North and Tattoo. Released on CD in 2002 as part of the "Final Four".
