Customer Reviews
Outdated...in the worst kind of way!
Whatever happened to updating guides and having those updated versions available for sale? This one is outdated, many of the hotels / restaurants / clubs / bars described don't exist anymore! Don't bother with the book - rather go download the updated e-version off the Lonely Planet website.
An extremely helpful book to Rio
I was really impressed with the LP guide for Rio de Janeiro. The book itself is pretty comprehensive, and it definitely shows that author spent time not only exploring the city but the nightlife as well.
I'm the type of traveler who will have two books on a city with me. I used the Top 10 Rio de Janeiro (EYEWITNESS TOP 10 TRAVEL GUIDE) as a book for an overview of the city, and then use this book for figuring out dinner and nightlife recommendations.
If you're going to be spending more than a week in Rio, this is a fantastic resource to get started with.
Awesome book - a godsend
This book was such a FIND! I was so thrilled that I picked this book up before heading down. I'm familiar with Rio and could get around with no issue, but this book so greatly enhanced my trip. The author had SO many awesome restaurants and tips and bars and clubs. I saw Rio in a totally different light. Awesome!
