Customer Reviews
The BEST guide book written by the BEST guide in Rome!
We recently returned from Rome where we had taken a tour with the author of this book. The book is the best guide to Rome in a really easy format to take along, with a terrific map. The best part is that the author is a guide in Rome, and she's picked out not only the most important things to see but writes a clear history of a confusing, busy, amazing city -- and the food recommendations are tops too! Can't say you've been to Rome if you don't eat! We loved this book so much we're now buying a couple more on Amazon for friends and family. Usually, guidebooks are cookie cutter, all the same, lah dee dah -- but this one is THE ONE to have in Rome! And if you get lucky, you can score a tour with the author at context travel ( that's their web site name without the space between words and with the usual three double w and a dot and a com too of course ) in Rome - not cheap, but absolutely the best guide service for those who seriously want to learn -- like a college course while you walk and talk.
Rome Demystified & Fun
Rome is overwhelming and you can spend all your time looking at ruins and miss the big picture AND the little details that make the big picture so fascinating. On foot is the best way to see Rome (so many great places for food along the way) and this book was a godsend. Gods-send? Anyway - great maps, convenient size, advice on eats, the only guide book you'll need. So leave Rick Steves behind and step up!
