First in a romantic trilogy set in Victorian England revolving around a literal Pandora's Box.

Product Description

Fielding Grey is the second son of the Marquess of Eldon and fortune hunter by night. He's on a mission for the Legend Hunters--a group of wealthy, titled, and heart-breakingly gorgeous men, each of whom are after the find of the century--he has his eyes set on obtaining the illustrious Pandora's Box. But before he finds it, he encounters an equally alluring treasure--the woman bold enough to look inside.

Esme Worthington can't resist taking the tiniest peek inside when fate drops the real Pandora's Box in her lap. Thus, she unleashes one of Pandora's irresistible curses: the curse of lust. Now, both Esme and Fielding must deal with this passionate curse--or blessing?--before unknown implications of Pandora's Box overpower them both.

From Publishers Weekly
Sizzling romance mixes clumsily with ancient legends in DeHart's late-Victorian romance, the first in the Legend Hunters trilogy. Fielding Grey, viscount of Eldon and freelance archeological treasure hunter, reluctantly enters into a business alliance with the club of gentlemanly legend hunters he holds responsible for his father's death. When Fielding's mysterious uncle finds Pandora's mythical box, he kidnaps beautiful Esme Worthington, believing she holds the key. The curses imprisoned in the box escape into the world, and Esme (who is referred to as a scholar, but displays little scholarship) and Fielding fight their growing attraction as they race to prevent disaster. While DeHart (Tempted at Every Turn) makes the romance believable and enticing, the multiplication of unlikely supernatural and familial subplots distracts from it, and the layers of artificial complication added to the original myth feel forced and unconvincing. An intoxicating read!5
Esme Worthington believes it to be her fault that she is on the shelf. After all, her mother had warned Esme that men did not want a woman who spoke her opinions or had any book learning. Esme is very knowledgeable about the legendary Pandora's Box. This is why Esme finds herself kidnapped by the Raven's men. The Raven is a ruthless treasure seeker. He hunts and steals antiquities for profit. Before Esme knows it she is unwillingly wearing a bracelet from the box. Each bracelet represents one of the curses. Esme's is cursed with Lust. She has about two weeks to figure out how to remove the bracelet before the curse kills her.

Fielding Grey used to work for the Raven. Now he is freelance. Fielding hunts treasure on his own, hiring himself out to clients who are collectors. When the members of Solomon's hire him to locate and retrieve Pandora's Box, Fielding realizes that this is his chance to infiltrate the club. Somewhere within Solomon's is the answer as to who is responsible for his father's death. Fortunately or unfortunately, depending on one's point-of-view, Fielding finds himself rescuing a damsel in distress. The longer Fielding spends in Esme's company, the more attracted to her he becomes. But is it real or a result of the curse dangling from her wrist? And how can he keep Esme safe from the Raven, help her figure out how to remove the bracelet, keep the box out of the wrong hands, as well as search for information about his father's death?

***** This is one of the best historical romances I have read this year. I have always been interested in the legend about Pandora's Box. Perhaps that is why I found myself unable to stop reading. I read the entire book in one night. (Who needs sleep?) The engaging plot and charming characters blend together for one intoxicating read. *****

OH MY GOSH!!!5
I am a huge DeHart fan! So far she definatly has not let me down.[ I am still waiting for the last of the slueth society, but if she keeps this up I can wait!] I fell in love with the characters,it moved nicely, and oh yes,the treasure seeking element was great! I could see myself as being as much in love with books and history and all the artifacts. If you would like a GREAT read pick this one up { I read mine in less than than 2 hrs}.I cant wait till the next one in this series comes out. If you haven't read any of her first books I would also reccomend them. She is definatly one of my new favorite authors.

A new to me author I've added to my favorites.4
Fielding Grey has made his living as a fortune hunter. His job is to obtain objects that are of great worth, and most of the time are thought to be just fiction. He's been asked to locate a treasure created by the Gods, but he is unsure he wants to trouble himself to find it. The men who want him to find this treasure, the men of Soloman's, are the men that may have been the reason for his father's death. If he takes this job of locating the fictional Pandora's Box, he may be able to get insight as to the men behind his fathers death.

Esme Worthington is a scholar. Unlike other women, she is not afraid to speak her mind, and will not back down in a discussion on history. She's been studying Pandora's Box since she was a young girl, and is fascinated by the stories that she has read. When the real Pandora's Box is located, and she has a chance to take a look, she can't help but look inside the mystical box. When she realises that she has unleashed a horrible curse, the curse of lust, she is frantic to rid herself of it. When she is confronted with a gorgeous man such as Fielding, will she be able to fight the powers of Pandora's Box, or will she give in?

Seduce Me is the first enstallment to the Legend Hunters Series. This is the first time I have ever read a Historical Romance and I'm greatly pleased with the outcome of it. I know it is wrong to judge a book by it's cover, but when women are half naked on covers with men all over them, its hard to look past. I overlooked the cover of Seduce Me mearly because the description of the book sounded fascinating. I was very curious to see how Fielding and Esme's characters would react when finding the legendary Pandora's Box.

I very much enjoyed DeHart's characters Esme and Fielding. While Esme was a little on the depressing side with wanting a man to call her husband, she was also a very strong character. She didn't let men see her as just mearly a delicate creature, she made them see that she could stand up for herself and that she knew a thing or two about history. On the other hand, Fielding's character was adventurous and plagued with thoughts of his father's death and getting revenge on the men that caused it. He was willing to come to Esme's rescue at the slightest hint of danger, while all the while declaring he had no feelings for her.

I'd like to thank Anna Balasi from Hatchette Books for allowing me to review this novel. I'd also like to thank her for allowing me to take part in the blog tour for this title. It has been great fun, and I'm proud to announce that I am now a fan of the Historical Romance genre. I look forward to reading the next installment to the Legend Hunter's Series by Robyn DeHart, as well as any future work that she may release.
