Federal Resume Guidebook5
I have this book as well as Ten Steps to a Federal Job. What a lifesaver. Who knew all the detail needed to get a federal job! These books are easy to digest, easy to follow, then they become a resource that I have used repeatedly. These books will take the fear out of the application process. In addition, a time saver is the "free" access to templates to help build the necessary documents. I used the template, and had a problem (turned out to be AOL as the problem). At 8am I wrote an email using the "contact us" tab on the web site the templates are located on. With-in fifteen minutes, the author herself (Kathryn K. Troutman) emailed me back and stayed with me until the issue was resolved. A short time later a technical support person contacted me by phone to make sure things were resolved. If that was not lightning fast, I do not know what is. A person whom I did not know recommended these books to me, now I am telling everyone I know (and don't know) about them!

A good start...4
This is a good book for putting together a government résumé, but it stops short of going through the entire government process. There is not adequate information on KSA writing and putting together a total government-ready package. For this level of material, the book nudges you toward using the publisher's consulting / writing service, which is on the expensive side depending on what positions you are going after.

Overall, it's a good book to get started with. You may need additional help down the road, though.

Federal Resume Guidebook 3rd Edition5
I would like to say thank you Kathryn Kraemer Troutman for writing such a "user friendly" book. This is a must have for anyone seeking a position within the Federal Government. I found this book to be extremely helpful in preparing my first federal resume. I think that the outline and content of my resume will result in my being hired! I am that confident!
