Now it is complete. A restored and widescreen DVD with great extras. The story is not about cow-boys per se, but about two retired Texas Rangers who determine to gather a herd and trail it north. Along they way they don't become cow-boys, but they do become cow-men.

Outstanding material culture for a film of its time. Wayne is as good as he ever was.

An A+ for effort. Not too much of a story but the characters and period atmosphere make up for it.

A solid retelling of "Moby Dick." The material culture is awful, but the story and acting are first rate.

Pretty darn good movie. Gable is in top form. Terrible wardrobe.

I thought this movie fine. Not great, but fine. Decent effort made at the 19th Century overall, but for some reason Hollywood refuses to use proper period hats. Everybody wonders around in lids more routine for the turn of the century.

Of all the Westerns on TV, this was the only one to attempt to portray cow-boys properly and in their environment. Wardrobe is consistent with the 1950s, which means bad, but what can you do?

Should have been better, but America is so starved for Westerns this mini-series set ratings records. Again with the hats!
