Buy used from: $0.60 For the guide to everything cool in Tokyo -- this was the guide to read. Mine is all dog-eared and marked up from the trip. Although it has all the generic places, it did have some great suggestions for unique "off the beaten track" places as well!

Buy new: $17.13 / Used from: $9.80 If you want to truly understand one of the most famous areas of Tokyo, you should definitely read this book regarding the Tsukiji fish market. The market boasts schools, banks, post offices, churches... and it's a FISH MARKET. It's a city within a massive area.

Buy new: $27.95 / Used from: $4.62 This should be an excellent book as well. If you would like to see the *real* Tokyo, I suggest you take a walk in the Nezu district of the city. It's part of old Tokyo -- with houses that remain from the days of samurai

Buy new: $12.69 / Used from: $8.69 This is actually a great book about the very "underworld" (though very public) night life of Tokyo. A great read if you're interested in the "weird" of Tokyo.

Buy new: $55.00 / Used from: $23.90 I had the pleasure of meeting Professor Jinnai when I was in Tokyo. He had an amazing sense of history of the city and he definitely knows his stuff. I was very impressed with his knowledge and I have yet to purchase this book. I have heard that this is a great book and he is an excellent writer!
