I added the BOB to my list b/c you can buy an attachment to snap in a carseat, making it the only stroller you really need.

This is a great mobile because it's black and white, 100 times more interesting than the mobiles made to match a crib set, and can be operated with a remote. We bought the rainforest mobile from Fisher Price, which is also nice, but I would choose this one if I did it again b/c of the black and white and stark contrast in color.

Buy new: $33.19 Splurge on this thermometer! At 2:00 am when your infant is screaming, you'll thank me! Temporal thermometers are more accurate than ear thermometers, and you don't have to try to pin your infant's arm down or do the 'butt thing' with a digital thermometer. We LOVE this thing - we'll buy another when this one dies, even if our kids are 20 by then! This is definitely a must-have.

Most hospitals give you all the stuff you really need - a little srub brush, a basic thermometer (see the upgrade in my list), an bulb suringe, etc. All you really need is a nail clipper, so don't fall for those cute baby kits with 18 different items in them. They are a waste of money.

Buy new: $22.83 The traditional crib sets are for the parents to ooh and ahh over the cuteness of the room. You can't use the quilt and you aren't supposed to use traditional bumpers, and that makes the majority of the cost of the set! Buy the breathable bumper and prevent your child from getting his arms or legs stuck in the bars, and then just buy a crib sheet or two. You'll save money and be much safer.

Buy new: $163.17 We own a Britax Roundabout and an Evenflow Triumph. These are the two highest-rated carseats on the market. If I did it again, I'd buy to Britax seats. They are more heavy-duty, and MUCH easier to switch between cars due to seatbelt-like clips that fit in the LATCH system. You will use your carseat every day for years - spend the extra money and get the best.

Buy new: $39.95 This is a GREAT product. It's what allowed us to leave the house in the fall and winter and go for walks. I've also seen people put them in sleds in the winter to keep their baby warm. A great product for snowy winters.

Buy new: $29.90 I discovered this product when my son was 5 weeks old. He went from sleeping 2-3 hours at a time to 6 hours straight!!! Definitely a miracle and worth the money, even if it can only be used for a short time. Sleep is precious!!

Here's a nice gym for a reasonable price that will enjoy a longer life than more anything else you can buy. Don't fall for the three-language, lights and music fanfare that many of the $50+ gyms offer!

Buy new: $39.00 This is another good product with a long lifespan for a reasonable price. I fell for the lights and sounds show of the Leap Frog bouncer, but if I could do it again, I'd definitely get this product instead. Works as a bouncer, then as a chair/rocker for older kids.

Buy new: $108.50 Good, middle-of-the-road pack n play. I got a cheap Graco, and wish I would have bought a nicer one because the travel bag was poorly design/constructed. However, you don't need all the bells and whistles the $200 models have! Changer is nice if the living room is far from the baby's room.

Buy new: $29.99 A boppy is essential! Great for breastfeeding, bottle feeding, and later, for when baby is learning to sit. If I misplaced my boppy when it was time to feed, there was a frantic frenzy while I located it! Get a couple covers so you can wash up any spills.
