Waste of money!
This stoller is nothing like Graco's other products. This product will never work in real life situations and on real outdoor surfaces like it does in the store (Ie; it is terrible to use at Disneyland or Disneyworld). You may like this stroller for about a month and then you will say to yourself, "what was I thinking...this was a huge mistake!" Here are the reasons....
1. First of all the stroller is way too heavy. For example, if you have to lift the stroller to put it into your car or carry the stroller up one set of steps to your hotel room, it is too cumbersome and back-straining. I am very strong and athletic, and both my husband and I find this stroller to be a pain in the neck to move. (I mean it literally)
2. The stroller is cheaply made, so it will never ride like the way it does in the store when you test drive it on their smooth tiles.
3. You must stay on paved surfaces with this stroller. (Flat dirt surfaces don't work...the stroller starts bouncing like crazy and you can't steer.)
4. You can't turn the stroller on a hill or it will tople over.
5. If you have a child weighing more than 30 lbs in front, the stroller is hard to turn and manage on SLIGHTLY uneven ground.
6. The stroller is cheaply made so all of the parts keep breaking off (Ie: the drink cups fell off 1 week after purchase and never stayed on again. The step in the front of the stroller is cheap and will fall off. My basket will not stay up and it just keeps flopping open and our stuff falls out. The parts are cheap and can't last the test of kids.)
7. The stroller does not fold down to be compact so it takes up a HUGE amount of space in your vehicle. (Not to mention, it wont fit in many trunks...you need to have a big SUV for this stroller) Traveling with this stroller with a packed car is impossible...it takes up way too much room. (I own a Full-sized SUV with a giant cargo area and this stroller is too big.)
8. This stroller works with an infant and a toddler (under 30 lbs). If the child is more than 30 lbs it is impossible to maneuver. Forget having the toddler sit in the front. You have to lift the toddler to get him/her to sit in the back of the stroller to center the weight or else it is almost impossible to steer.
9. Do not take this stroller to Disneyland on a semi-crowded day. You will hate steering it through the crowds and you will be exhausted after the first 20 minutes. We just got back from disneyland and realized that the stroller was more of a pain than a help. We had our toddler walk the hole time and used his seat to store our stuff...his weight (31 lbs) made the stroller too difficult to steer.
10. Because this stroller is so unmanageable, I never use it. The only time I use it is when I am going somewhere (like an amusement park) and I plan to leave an unattended stroller at the entrance with our stuff. I bring this one in hopes that someone will steal it while it is left unattended and I won't have to bring it home again.
On a side note: Never fly with this stroller. I am a regular traveler so I know how travel works. You bring your stroller to your gate and they you hand it to a guy at the bottom of the ramp. As you watch this guy carry your new stroller down the stairs, 100% of the time, he will drag this monstrosity of a stroller by one handle as it bounces down the metal stairs towards the plane. No airline person is going to take the time or energy to lift this stroller properly to get it to the plane without damage. Why would they? (Not to mention, this stroller is too big for the security conveyor belts at the airport, so you have to CARRY this stroller over to a guy who can do a separate inspection. It usually takes an extra 10 minutes to get this stroller through airport security due to its special security check requirements. Basically...don't try flying with this stroller.
If you still think you want to buy this stroller, go to the store and practice lifting one up onto a shelf in the store. Try doing that a couple of times and you will realizes it will get really exhausting fast. The only reason I am taking so long to write this review is that I am hoping to save someone of the same mistake I made when I purchased this terrible stroller.
I liked it, but it broke and is cheaply made.
It is a big stroller, but not any bigger than other doubles. I really liked that my son could climb in and out of the front seat by himself--no bar across the front.
The drink cup holders fall out VERY easily. Also, the back seat tray bar would fall apart every time I opened the stroller--I'd have to find the little red clip that fell off and jam it back together.
But the biggest problem we had was that after only 18 months of use, the releasing mechanism inside the stroller to fold it up, broke! So I was at the mall with the kids, went to the car to fold up the stroller and discovered that I could not fold the stroller down! We were just walking at the mall--no rough playing with the stroller or anything when this happened, so not our fault. The unfolded stroller is way too big to fit in a car, so I had to leave it, go home and wait for my husband to pick it up with his truck. But now it is sitting in our garage and we are unable to fold it up.
Graco usually has pretty good customer service, but not about this--the first lady told us to ship it back to them and they'd replace it. After researching and figuring it would cost $75 to do that, we called again to see if there were any other options. This time we were told to not ship it back because there is nothing they can do for us!! VERY FRUSTRATING!
So, while I liked this stroller at first, it did not hold up for how much it cost. I am usually a fan of Graco, but they really missed the mark with this one!
Bulky and heavy but a GREAT stroller overll
When I was pregnant with my third son I started freaking out. I knew I would never be able to leave the house with 2 boys that were only 15 months apart. I debated long and hard because I hated the idea of a double stroller. Too big and bulky. I figured I would just use my single stroller and use a baby sling for my infant. Then I decided just to go for it and get a double. It was the BEST purchase I made. It's too hard to wear a sling with a baby in the winter and steer a stroller and my son was born in December.
I bought this stroller for the pattern and reviews I read. I never went and pushed it in the store. It steers like a DREAM. It is so easy to steer and easily takes corners.
I didn't have a Graco infant seat, but was able to remove the snack bar in the back seat and just PLACE my infant carrier in there. It didn't match but worked GREAT for my needs.
The basket is VERY easy to get to. You will never be able to get into ANY basket when the seat is reclined so that can't be considered a con.
The only reason I gave it only 3 stars is because it is SO heavy to get in and out of my mini van and takes up SO much room (which every double stroller does). I know you are only lifting it in and out but still, it about breaks your back.
Folding is a DREAM on this stroller. It folds one handed in seconds. I think I have amazed people in the parking lot with how quick and easy it is.
MY 2 year old always had to sit up front as the smallest setting on the straps still didn't adjust to fit my youngest son. At 9 months old the front straps were STILL too big for him to be able to sit there and he is 20 pounds. My 2 year old son loved that he could climb in and out if he wasn't strapped in. It was nice that if he wanted to nap he could sit in the back, but again... I couldn't put my 9 month old up front since he couldn't be strapped in tight enough.
I recently sold this stroller and have to say I regret it. My youngest son is 9 months and my middle son is 27 months. I THOUGHT I wanted a sit and stand, but found that my 2 year old has too much freedom that way :-) I am looking at getting a Baby Trend double stroller that converts to a sit and stand as I am pretty sure that will meet my needs.
