Great characters, but no mystery!2
Don't get me wrong, living in Texas as I do I thought that this was a great theme with hilarious characters. The beginning of the game has a great setup, with a shooting in a Texas saloon and clues scattered throughout the bar. The rest of the game, though, is a total let down. I've played many other mystery party games before, and usually by the fourth round there are all kinds of fun little secrets about each character that are revealed. In this edition, however, there are a couple characters that had literally only one or two secrets at the beginning of the game that were revealed, and these characters were just simply forgotten by the third round. And if role-playing isn't your forte and you just want to solve a good mystery, then forget it. We have eight characters, each has a motive, but you have absolutely no inkling as to the identity of the murderer by the end. It's as if they wrote all the scripts, then drew a name out of a hat at the end to pick the murderer. In other words, there's no way to solve it. I would suggest one of the older Murder a la Carte games instead, like Bullets and Barbecue or Lethal Luau. This one was just terrible and I was embarrassed to invite some of my new gamers to it.

Great party!! Our group loved it!!!5
We did this for a school fundraiser party. Our group had a blast! This game is perfect for a dinner party or as a "show" for an audience who play extra customers at Bubba's Bar. If you're looking for a great redneck party with a fun mystery to solved, this is it!
