The National Cancer Institute, nutritionists, and scientists concur: the colors of foods have definite health-promoting virtues. Using this knowledge, celebrated artist Mindy Weisel teamed up with her nutritionist and esthetician daughters to offer a delicious seven-day diet and beauty plan based on one color a day---White, Red, Green, Orange, Purple, Yellow, and Rainbow. On the Red Day, for instance, choose from Red Italian Tomato Casserole, Red Day Tuna-Apple Salad, and Baked Chicken in Tomato Basil Sauce, and end your day exfoliating with cranberry enzymes and washing with rose petal water. Complete with the 7-Day Color Diet Plan, a maintenance plan, more than 100 recipes, and seven days of colorful beauty treatments and tips, "The 7 Day Color Diet" is a treat for your mind, your body, and your eye.

Review
"Enjoyed the different approach to proper nutrition in this easy to remember format." -- Cheryl McCann, Review-books.com
"When you sit down to a meal (regardless of whether you need to lose weight), what could be lovelier than 'munching on a rainbow?' That's what Mindy Weisel and her co-authors recommend in 'The 7-Day Color Diet,' an updated and expanded version of an eating plan Weisel devised nearly a quarter-century ago. Weisel's plan promotes good health and weight loss through sound eating by concentrating on the color of the foods you eat, not on the calories or the amount of carbohydrates.... Weisel provides sample menus, beginning with a 'white day' for 'visual fasting' (consuming such nonetheless delightful dishes as a vanilla-honey milkshake, Russian mushroom soup and white garlic chicken), followed by days of 'adding glorious color after color, as you lose pound after pound.' She also includes dozens of easily prepared but elegantly delicious recipes guaranteed to keep dieters committed."

"New Yorker Carolyn Miller, 32, a registered dietician. The fat-melting powers of extra fruits and vegetables helped her shed 37 pounds. 'It's foolproof - you will lose weight,' says Miller, co-author of The 7-Day Color Diet."
Woman's World, August 24, 2004
"It has been proven time and time again that eating a variety of colors, from leafy greens and deep red tomatoes and berries to oranges and carrots, is the best way to maintain your health. Celebrated artist Mindy Weisel, together with her daughters Carolyn, a nutritionist, and Jessica, an esthetician, has taken that concept one step further to create 'The 7-Day Color Diet: The New Way to Health and Beauty,' complete with a diet plan, a maintenance plan, more than 100 recipes and seven days of colorful beauty treatments and tips....Easy, fun and filling, 'The 7-Day Color Diet' tastes good, looks good and is good for you. And if it helps you lose weight, what more could you ask for?"

Perfect diet for Summer!
I'm a watercolorist and a constant dieter. With all the talk of low carbs, I almost forgot the importance of fruits and vegetables to health and weight control until I found this book! Artist Mindy Weisel and her daughers present a very well balanced -- but beautiful approach -- to weight loss. I loved the recipes and the special skin care treatments at the end of each day. Color is an inspiring way to taste all the fruits and vegetables of summer! I lost weight slowly but steadily and felt better and better on The 7-Day Color Diet.
