Convenient, lightweight, colorful
I bought one of these in mango (love the color!) and have used it several times already. I was looking for something more compact than my regular shopping bags, and this fit the bill.
The built-in stuff sack is brilliant, surpassed only by the attached carabiner clip. This ensures that the bag is always available, either attached to my purse or tossed in the bottom of my other bag, ready to use. Not having to fold the bag up in a precise manner is great and means I'm much more likely to put it away and don't have to hunt for the storage sack.
The fabric is lightweight and the handles are comfortable. I got a little food on the bag and it wiped off easily; haven't tried machine washing the bag yet.
One slight drawback is that the stitching seems weak (stitches are wide and loose); it does not look like it will hold up long-term, so I'm going to run a topstitch down the sides and across the bottom - the bag holds a lot volume-wise so I don't want a seam to explode on me.
Overall I'm very pleased with this bag; it's now my constant companion for those last-minute, unplanned stops at the market or drug store.
Save the environment - use these great re-usable bags!
These bags are great! We originally got a few of them at our local grocery store. They are very strong and able to hold a lot of weight and lots of items. They hold a LOT more than you would expect. I use one to carry piles of library books and the corners of the hardback books haven't punctured the bag, nor caused any problem. The bags are very small when rolled back into their integrated stuff sack. It's true that you can stick it in your purse, pocket, etc. Or hook it on the outside with the attached clip. These bags are a great and easy way to help the environment by cutting back on your use of non-degradable plastic shopping bags. And, as an added bonus, the ChicoBag company who makes the bags will take them back to recycle if/when you wear it out! Not sure what else we can ask for! :)
Nice bag, but expensive
I love this bag and have several, but in the past several years, my local stores have been offering their own reusable bags that are larger and much cheaper. Unfortunately, I'm having a hard time justifying paying $5-10 for this bag when I can get one from my local store for $1 or less...
