About the Author
Andrew Hartwood is the pseudonym of a Grosse Pointe resident who prefers anonymity, religiously reads the local newspaper, and who is a firm believer in the myths and legends that arise out of the mists and fast-running currents of Lake St. Clair and the Detroit River.

A real page turner - Best book I have read this summer!!!5
I just finished reading Mr. Hartwood's latest book - Murder in Grosse Pointe: The 49th Grave and I must say that it was a very exciting book.

I am a history/literature major from a well known east coast university and I found Mr. Hartwood's discussion about the history of Grosse Pointe and Detroit to be fascinating. Also his writing style and his ability to engage the reader will draw you into the story and you will not be able to put the book down once you have started it.

Based on his detailed and colorful description of the characters I would guess that Mr. Hartwood must have drawn from his vast collection of friends and acquaintances as inspiration for the characters.

I plan on recommending this book to my husband since he has always been a big fan of Hartwood's work.

A bit of interesting history3
I liked reading the little bit of history concerning Grosse Pointe and Detroit. It was also fun reading about familiar places. What I didn't like were all the spelling and other errors. It's only about as thick as your baby finger, so I feel that the book is too expensive for what it has to offer. Better to get it used.

Brilliant writing, exciting characters - a great read5
Hartwood's first book is great!! I could not put it down once I started reading it. A great book to take to the beach.

Hartwood brings us a masterful story that takes the reader from beautiful Grosse Pointe, Michigan to London, England and back. His writing style is polished and the storyline is exciting. This book has it all - murder, intrigue and a love story. I have recommended this book to several of my friends who have also enjoyed it thoroughly. If you have ever been to Grosse Pointe or Detroit you will love this book. It is fun to read and a great mystery.

Hartwood's very accurate description of Grosse Pointe/Detroit and the events that go on in that area brought back many happy memories for me.

I look forward to Hartwood's next novel, which I hope will be available soon.
