Texas Plants
I really like this book because it is about local plants of the area. The colors are great as are the descriptions of the plants. I have been able to identify plants that I have and did not know the names of. This is the second book we have purchased from this Author.
A great resource
This is a great resource book for people living along the Gulf coast. The heat and humidity can zap plants quickly--this book lets you know which ones can stand the heat, and which ones cannot.
At the end of each section is a great list of plants, that are broken down into different areas. If you want a tree for fall color, it has a list of those. Spring flowering? It's in there. You want shrubs that will do well in full sun? Got it. Is your yard shady? It's got a list for that.
Best of all, it has a list for plants to avoid.
It also has a handy calendar for your 'to do' list each month.
Very thorough and comprehensive.
