About the Author
Enid Blyton died in 1968 but remains one of the best-known and best-loved writers of children's stories. She is consistently voted a children's favourite in author polls. She has over 600 children's books to her credit, including the Famous Five series, the Secret Seven series, the Naughtiest Girl series (all Hodder) and the Malory Towers and St Clare's series (both available from Hodder on audio).

From AudioFile
Plucky Jan Francis reads the children's wide-eyed adventures with vim and vigor, in true Secret Seven tradition. Elementary-aged village school children create their own crimes to solve and people to follow. Two competing clubs, Famous Five and Secret Seven, are trying to outdo each other and compete for thrills. Francis's British voice conveys their childhood excitement throughout most of the production but becomes grave when the children are caught in a genuine crime. All's well, however, when the Inspector responds to their call. The relief is apparent in Francis's tone. A.G.H. © AudioFile 2003, Portland, Maine-- Copyright © AudioFile, Portland, Maine
